Bosnia and Herzegovina

Country Profile

Bosnia and Herzegovina is a liberal democracy. It has several levels of political structuring, according to the Dayton Agreement. The most important of these levels is the division of the country into two entities: the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republika Srpska

Bosnia and Herzegovina is a transitional economy that is pursuing membership in the European Union and the World Trade Organization.

Social entrepreneurship in the country is still considered an emerging field. The primary focus of social enterprises is on social integration and employment of vulnerable groups; economic activities of CSOs to ensure financial sustainability; and wider understanding of social entrepreneurship from the aspect of good economy.
